Recently, a poll took place that showed the dream of home ownership is alive and well, especially in renters. The survey conducted showed that while 61% believed they’d still be renting in the next three years, it also showed that 91% of the people believed that home ownership was something to be proud of. The majority of people who did plan on buying were younger people in the age range of 25-44. According to David Brickman, the executive vice president of Freddie Mac Family, “Many renters are not buying homes because of a perceived lack of ability to afford the down payment or mortgage and poor credit history.” However, homeownership is within reach.
